Pursuant to the requirements of Public Law 93-579 (Privacy Act of 1974), Public Law 104-13 (Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995), and Public Law 85-536, 15 USC Sec. 631 (Small Business Act of 1953), notice is hereby given that the authority to collect information on small businesses in accordance with OMB control number #1505-0220. The principal purpose for collecting the information is to assist, counsel, and advise small businesses of the procedures for contracting with the Department of Treasury and to ensure that small businesses have maximum practicable opportunity for award of Department of Treasury contracts. The information collected may be provided to those officers and employees of any constituent unit of the Department of the Treasury who have a need for the records in the performance of their duties. Disclosure of this information is optional. Treasury will not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to, a collection of information unless it displays a valid OMB control number. Civil and criminal penalties, for the purpose of influencing in any way the action of the Administration, or for the purpose of obtaining money, property, or anything of value, under this Act, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for not more than two years, or both. The estimated average burden associated with this collection of information is currently at 30 - 45 minutes minutes per respondent or record keeper, depending on individual circumstances.
